Scalloped Apples

6 cups apples, peeled, cored, sliced
Lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
1 T. flour
1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place apple slices in buttered 8x8 inch baking pan. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Add to apples and toss. Cut up butter and dot evenly over top of apples. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake one hour.

For Dessert: spoon this deliciously warm compote over ice cream.
